Predicting and Hunting the Elk Rut
March 18, 2011

Planning for the 2011 Elk Rut?

There is a new page about predicting and hunting the elk rut. To go directly to the elk rut page click here.

Predicting the elk rut is a no-brainer. Predicting when the rut will come alive before our eyes and ears depends on how bright the moon is at night, predator presence (including hunter pressure), weather conditions and current travel habits of the elk you are hunting.

Check out the page, then feel free to comment about it at the elk hunting forums.

Hunter Fitness Preparation

It's that time of year again. If you have been a couch potato or just want to get fitter for the hunt, start now.

I added P90X Extreme Home Fitness to my marathon training regimen two weeks ago. I was sore the first week, but making progress now. It will serve me well hunting the slopes and, hopefully, hauling out some heavy elk meat!
