Elk calling in competition is an art, but you dont have to be a hunting call artist to be successful at using elk hunting calls. Most elk talk can be easily reproduced using elk hunting calls on the market today.

More Elk Talk Pages to Come
This is just the first of a series of three "Elk Talk" pages that we will be providing. This first page is an overview of the kind of sounds that are useful to reproduce with elk hunting calls. There are links on this page to actual recordings of elk making the sounds discussed.We will be adding more thorough instructions this month about calling elk with reed calls and tubes (with more audio links). Lastly, we plan to have a page of many, many recordings of elk sounds for you to spend time listening to at your leisure. Listening to real elk sounds puts the sound in your head, so you can remember what it is supposed to sound like when you reproduce them with calls.
We'll let you know when those pages are complete. They should both be up in a week or so.
