Your hunting with a partner, you see elk coming down toward you in a line,if one of you can take the lead cow down the rest of the heard following doesn't know what the **** to do. Including young bulls that may be running with that group. Taking the lead cow (of course if possible) may momentarily give the other hunter a chance for a better shot as the group may hold up mewing for direction of their leader who is no where to be found. You might only get a few seconds but it might be the difference between going home with two tags and freezer's filled verses one.
