Hello Everyone! I'm needing advice for where to go for my first Archery elk drop camp. I'm looking to go September 14-23, 2012 and considering looking into Fawn gulch outfitters out of Pagosa Springs in GMU 77 or D&G Outfitters our of Meredith,Co in GMU 444 & 47. Where do I have the best chance of seeing Elk?
I'm a very good woodsman and experienced archer & don't mind really getting off the trail head. Any advice anyone can share about either the outfitters or the hunting areas and their successes I would appreciate it. Send to jadamsATcbgundakerDOTcom

Looking to hunt the Pagosa Springs area (GMU 77) and was looking for someone who could pack us in and out and come get an animal if we're fortunate enough to get one. We don't want a wall tent, guide, chef or anything like that. Just someone with horses to pack us in and out of the area we want to hunt. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

Can anyone who has hunted here give me their opinion of 1st and 2nd rifle seasons? I believe there is a lot of hunting pressure, but also a lot of elk. Please advise. This will be my 1st trip there.
