" First elk kill "

I just got back from Co 2nd season. it was a very hard hunting trip, but ive heard that elk hunting is very hard.i hunted all week, and on the last day of our hunt. and the last 5 minutes of day light i killed my first 4x4 elk. he was about 35 to 40 yards away.and ran about 50 yards. and then we spent the next 5 hours of darkness taking care of it. we were'nt really prepared for it, but everything turned out great. i was to thank this web site, for all the great tips and info. it is one of the best elk hunting sites that i have found. i hope to get back out again but it is a trip that takes a lot of money and planning. and by the way , we were hunting public land and had no guide. it was a do it yourself hunt. it wouldn't have been possible, if i hadn't found this site.because i had no idea how to hunt elk. thanks
